With people now taking more interest into where their products come from the demand for cruelty-free and vegan products is always growing. Over the last few years the market has improved in the U.K however. After doing a little digging around and testing different brands I found my top favourite 3 cruelty free makeup brands.
This is my personal go-to favourite brand and for the quality of the products and because it is extremely affordable with the added bonus of a 10% student discount if you have a Superdrug beauty card and Unidays. The have a range of foundations, concealers to eyeshadow pallets and the best affordable highlighter. My go-to – the Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighter – Golden Lights retailing for only £3.00 and the matte liquid lipsticks for also £3.00.
If you follow the online beauty community and watch the likes of Jeffree Star and Tati on YouTube, then you will have definitely heard about the reviews and the hype that was surrounding the Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette which is available at boots for £9.99, a little on the high-end price wise but worth every penny. Sleek is another cruelty free brand that have some of the most amazing pigmented shadows and the lipsticks stay on almost all night!
- The Body Shop
The Body Shop is known for its amazing skin care range and products to suit everyone, it wasn’t until recently that I began to try out their cruelty free/vegan makeup range. The products are slightly more expensive than Boots or Superdrug, but the quality is very good. The Fresh Nude Foundation in shade 055 Yucatan Honey is the closest match at just £16.00 and is perfect for when you want a natural glow look.
