Match Preview: Giants v St Helens

Huddersfield Giants face their toughest test so far this season as they host undefeated league leaders St Helens at the John Smith’s Stadium on Friday evening (7:45pm kick-off).

Huddersfield earned their first win of the year after a comfortable 20-6 victory over Warrington Wolves just over two weeks ago.

The Giants return to action against a St Helens side who sit top of Super League after wins against Castleford Tigers and Catalan Dragons.

England World Cup star Jermaine McGillvary is in line to make his first appearance of the year after missing the opening two rounds of action due to fitness issues.

Head coach Rick Stone makes just one change to his 19-man squad as Adam Walne recovers from a calf strain to replace Tyler Dickinson.

Captain Leroy Cudjoe and forwards Shannon Wakeman, Tom Symonds and Michael Lawrence all miss out due to injury.

St Helens make just one switch to the 19-man squad that won away to Catalan Dragons as Matty Lees comes in for the suspended Morgan Knowles who misses the next four matches.

The Saints won the last meeting between these two clubs 40-16 with centre Mark Percival scoring 16 points for Justin Holbrook’s side back in September.
