It’s been just over a fortnight since the atrocity in Manchester occurred. At the end of the concert of US pop singer Ariana Grande, 22 people were killed and 64 injured in a suicide bomb attack at Manchester’s MEN arena.
Harrowing stories and images of the attack have struck a chord with many, inclining them to take to the internet and raise funds for the victims’ families. Now, the city of Wakefield is no different as a group of likeminded individuals have decided to put on a gig in aid of the victims, with all proceeds going directly to the online fund.
Unplugged in Wakefield is happening on Friday 9th June at Henry Boons in Wakefield, and features upcoming talent from across the city. Opening the night are local trio Shameless in Denial, frontman of New Vintage Tyler Karch playing a solo set of a mixture of covers and original material, ambient guitar and vocal duo KMRS, and headlining the night, alt-rock three-piece Husk.
Guests of the event are being asked to donate a minimum of £1 upon entry, for what promises to be a fantastic night of stripped back music delivered by local artists, all in aid of an incredibly worthy cause.
All details of the event can be found here!
The address of the venue is: Henry Boons, 130 Westgate, Wakefield WF2 9SR.
